"Okay, but ... where have you been? Are you still blogging? What have you been doing???"
That would be Charlton (Startup Atlanta executive director), catching me at a startup event a few weeks ago, wondering what the heck was up with me. And he was not the only one.
I hate not meeting expectations, so I was already feeling pretty guilty because I knew I'd fallen off the face of the planet for the past few months. But I also had to be kind of vague ("Oh, you know, things...") because I was insanely busy but couldn't talk about it. (Seriously, being behind and not able to talk about why, just ugh.)
Fortunately, week before last we were able to finally share the big news: SalesLoft raised a $50M Series C investment round! (Sorry, Charlton, I swear I wanted to tell you!)
That had been my life for months, y'all. And in the middle of that craziness, SalesLoft hosted our annual three-day conference, we were honored to be named a Top Best Place to Work by the AJC, I had the entire lineup for Atlanta Startup Village back out four days before the monthly event, and my husband and I lost our minds and knocked out two walls in our house (hello, five weeks of drywall and concrete dust, I did not enjoy you).
I may or may not have had a small nervous breakdown in my car in the middle of Atlanta traffic (but honestly, who hasn't been driven to that by ATL gridlock before?) Anyway, those things are all in the past now, and I am getting my life back together.
The last week or so have been all catch-up, clearing the backlog of "everything not Series C," and I am super excited to be getting back into the swing of things.
Look for a triple-play of The Consumer Show at Switchyards coming up shortly (dude, those are like 4,500 words each, they take time), and yes, I promise, I will actually start going to startup events again, like an adult.
I'll see you all out there!
